Give The Gift Of Music

By: Victor Epand

Sometimes the most personal gifts, and the most cherished, are the gifts that come from a personal part of your soul. Giving a gift of music does exactly this. Like a poem, music can open up the emotions of the recipient and mean more to them than any material possession.

If you have musical talent, you can easily wake up your spouse from their sleep with an acoustic serenade, or perhaps a tune on the piano, written specifically for him or her. It would be a cold-hearted person who does not get a bit misty-eyed after listening to your heartfelt rendition.

Of course, unless we actually have a bit of talent, it is possible our beautiful rendition could fall flat and leave us embarrassed and resigned to never trying anything musical again.

If you fit into that category, then perhaps make a CD-mix for your loved one. Back in the day, making a tape-mix meant that you sat for hours in front of the radio, recording the songs you wanted as they came on.

Now, in the digital age, you can find the songs you want and burn them to a CD, to make the perfect representation of your feelings for someone else. Try and pick songs that show how you feel in the title, as sometimes people do not always listen to the lyrics of a song. You can fit dozens of mp3s onto one CD, rather than a few songs on a tape, so the amount of love you want to express is wide open.

There are several pointers to remember when you make a musical gift, either by using the music of others or creating your own. If you choose to do this, do it in a private setting. Your loved one may become embarrassed if you start singing to him or her at a restaurant or in front of his or her family
.
Also, if you do fail in the musical talent department, you will be even more embarrassed. But with only one person, who loves you knowing about it, it will go nowhere. With much of your family seeing the spectacle, the news of your embarrassment will spread far and wide.

If you are a very brave soul, you can use You Tube to make a video of your musical gift and put it online. Warning: Only do this if you are truly talented, otherwise you could unknowingly become an internet celebrity for all the wrong reasons.
